Ghostbusters second trailer reveals more about the plot and the fate of Chris Hemsworth’s character.
So Ghostbusters first trailer was met with a lot of criticism and scepticism. The trailer features the all-female star cast to feature in the reboot of the movie directed by writer/director Paul Feig and written by screenwriter Katie Dippold.
Don't Miss: Incredible Pokemon Gifts
The movie is being compared to the original which has garnered the disbelief from a lot of the fans of the original movies. The first trailer of the movie became one of the most disliked trailers on YouTube and one would think there would not be another trailer.
Feig and Sony Pictures however have more faith in their project and the second trailer for the movie was recently released. This time, instead of introducing the characters one by one, the trailer is focusing more on the problem at hand. The paranormal activity in the city of Manhattan and how it is an event nearing apocalypse in nature.
The Ghostbusters teams is called and they are told that they might be the only one who can handle the situation. This makes them glad and they give thanks for the trust even though they are up against the evil that nobody should handle.
Erin Gilbert (Wiig), Abby Yates (McCarthy), Patty Tolan (Jones) and Jilliam Holtzman (McKinnon) are preparing for the upcoming situation while Abby says that they have a gift. They see that no one else sees or acknowledges. We see Chris Hemsworth as Kevin answering the phone, the girls travelling in their hearse/Cadillac to take down ghosts and the slimy puking all over Erin.
The movie has tweaked fun at media questioning whether the new Ghostbusters are for real or a joke. There’s a concert where Patty is not caught by the crowd and she cracks a race/feminist joke to explain that she is mad. We find out that someone had built a device that amplifies paranormal activity and Kevin says that they are going to need a bigger boat. Remember that ghost that Patty compelled out of Abby in the first trailer.
Well turns out it finds its way into Kevin who comes under possession and makes the machine work. The trailer also revealed the Ghostbusters ghoul Slimer, as well as what appears to be the reboot’s version of the infamous Stay Puft Marshmallow Man from the original Ghostbusters movie. The latter is a humongous poltergeist known as “Mayhem”.
