Adele scores a £90 million Sony Music contract. Adele is set up to sign a contract with Sony Music worth £90 million which will make her the first British artist to earn so much.

Adele is a mega star. There is no doubt that. Just saying Adele’s name will make people running to the stores to buy her album and that’s why even with only one single in the year 2015, Adele scored her spot in the Billboard Top 100 Musicians. That is without any tours or even an album release which came much later.

Adele is a voice of a generation. Sony Music is in realization of this amazing talent and they seized their opportunity to strike up a deal with her the first chance they got.

Adele’s contract with XL Music was coming to an end and that’s when Sony made their move and started to negotiate a deal with her manager Jonathan Dickins.

A source told The Sun that everyone knew that Adele’s net worth was £85 million but Dickins kept pushing for more. He was determined to get Adele the deal and he had been working on it for quite some time.

A source from Sony said that they knew that her contract with XL Music was coming to an end and that’s why they started to prepare a contract in one of their companies in Columbia. Sony is already close with Adele and this new contract will forge an association which will be testament to music history.

Once this deal has been signed, Sony will have the rights to her work and they will be the official distributors of her upcoming work. Adele is the first ever British star to have signed a contract of this caliber. It is also the most valuable for a woman.

With this deal she is eclipsing Whitney Houston’s £70 million deal from Arista in 2001 and she is behind Michael Jackson with his £164 million deal with Sony which gave the label rights to up to 10 new recordings, back catalog and franchising.
