ComicBook announced that the Marvel Comics legend will make his final New York Comic Con appearance this year.
He announced that he took his final trip to Canada earlier this year as well. Many assume that his age is starting to catch up with him and he wants to enjoy the life he has left instead of getting shuttled around from event to event - travel can take a lot out of a person. He plans to retire completely from convention life within the next few years.
If you want to meet Lee or get his autograph, this will probably be the last time he will make a public appearance on the East Coast - or at least it will be the last time it is easy for you. According to the New York Comic Con schedule, Lee is set to appear on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. He will appear on a few different panels and offer up multiple signing opportunities.
There is good news, however, and that is that there is no word about Lee stopping his attendance at the San Diego Comic-Con and/or Comikaze. He lives on the West Coast, so it is probable he will go there more often.
