Good news for Ferrari lovers, the new LaFerrari Spider is confirmed for the year 2017.

The newly appointed CEO of Ferrari Sergio Marchionne has confirmed the release of LaFerrari Spider in the next year. According to the new CEO many potential customers for Spider have been approached who are interested in buying it.

Spider will be a hyper car and the company is privately seeking potential buyers for it. The car is in development these days and is in the process of being finalized. This car will be an open top version of fixed-head LaFerrari. 499 units of La Ferrari were produced last year and all of them have been sold.

The LaFerrari coupe and Spider will have the difference of an open roof mainly. The latest convertible models of Ferrari which include 488 Spider and California both come with hard tops that are foldable. It is expected that LaFerrari Spider will have a folding hard top roof as well.

Other than that it can also be expected to have a removable Targa style top. This can be a good option due to the extra weight of the car being a hybrid having a V12 engine. However the final reveal will tell us exactly about the top that will be used in this car.

LaFerrari coupe comes with a 6.3 liters V12 engine. It has a horsepower of 950bhp. It is expected that this LaFerrari Spider will have this same engine and no changes will be made to it. It is also said that it will have lesser units for sale than LaFerrari which had 499 units produced, according to AutoCar

However the price of this Spider will certainly be more than £1 million of coupe. It is also expected that all of the units will be sold before the release of this car which is pretty common for a new Ferrari.
