Many scientists are reporting the fact that the food supply turns toxic due to climate change. Global warming is thus destroying the quality of our foodstuff too.
As the cash crops and staple foodstuff around the world face the deleterious effects of global warming, these plants generally release toxins to counter the negativity in terms of weather.

The toxins released by these crops are in turn harmful to human beings when they consume them. Warnings from scientists regarding this health hazard are beginning to be noticed by the common people.
Even the domesticated farm animals that eat these crops tend to fall sick due to the plethora of toxins in them. In a report by the UNEP, it was reiterated that wheat and maize are creating specific toxins in a reactive manner in order to afford some protection from the weather.
The weather as everyone knows is getting more and more erratic and extreme as time moves on. Basically, the problem is that these toxins are pretty nasty if people and livestock consume them for extended periods of time. The reaction shown by crops is similar to the stress symptoms shown by human beings when they are under pressure.
Conditions of dry weather and soaring temperatures cause crops to respond in an abnormal way. It is almost like Mother Nature is fighting back. Normally, plants convert nitrates into the building blocks of life.
However, adverse weather conditions disrupt these patterns. There is nitrate absorption in plants due to the anomaly of erratic weather. When individuals eat too many of these nitrates in the so-called healthy plant diets of theirs, the result is roadblocks in the oxygen transport taking place in red blood cells. The crops that show this trend include: wheat, maize, barley, soybeans, millet and sorghum.
As if this is not enough, some of the crops thrive on large quantities of rain after periods of drought. This leads to a burgeoning and accumulation of hydrogen cyanide.
Hydrogen cyanide is also called prussic acid. This is a toxin which is commonly used in the battlefield. It disrupts oxygen flow in human beings. Even small quantities of it may be bad for mankind.
Cassava, flax, maize and sorghum crops are subject to the fixation of hydrogen cyanide. This is not new. It has happened before during periodic heat waves. Yet now the stage is set for record amounts of these toxins to get stored up in the food supply of mankind and its domesticated livestock.
Other harmful agents include aflatoxins. They cause a range of symptoms such as loss of vision, cancer and liver trouble. Not only the Third World countries but Europe is also liable to bear the brunt of this new trend of crop pollution.
