The next critical SEO development project for publishers looms.
Google announced several updates around its search engine at the Google I/O 2016. One of new things Google works on is real-time indexing. Google is most of the time very fast in indexing new content, but it can be inconsistent. Who better knows that there is new content than the webmaster. Google is finally giving webmaster the controls to tell the search engine that new content is available now.

From a user stand point, I find myself often turn to Twitter to find out news about events that just happen right now, because Google and Google News do not have anything yet about the event. The Google real-time indexing could be a real game changer for news sites.
Publishers will be able to use the Google Indexing API to trigger the indexing of their content in real time. Google is still vague on how this will work. The search giant plans to launch a pilot later this summer. It is already clear that sites that do not support real-time indexing will be at a disadvantage in the rankings.
