Outlander’s Je Suis Prest took us through the steps of waging war and the consequences through Claire and Jamie’s eyes.
It was finally back to the Highlands. Jamie and Clair have finally returned with a new determination. Having failed to make the war not happen. They set their eyes on a new goal. Winning the war.

After being out of his matter for so long in the Parisian court, Jamie finally returned to his element. Sam Heughan proves once more why he is the perfect choice to play Jamie.
Claire and Jamie rally the Lallybroch troops and a population of undertrained farmers to train for the upcoming war. They are not alone however. The familiar faces of Angus, and Rupert are back.
They returned as jovial as ever. In Claire’s words, somethings never change. Dougal also returns. Happy that Jamie has joined the Jacobite cause. The team starts to train the potential army for the war ahead.
All the training however brings back Claire’s memories of World War II in which she served as a nurse at the start of the first season. As the Jacobites train the men, Claire witness the in different stages of training and in flashbacks we see the undertrained English troops in the same situation.
We can see what an overdeal they are for Claire who seems to be living it all over again. The flashbacks are the gold in this episode. Claire’s encounters with soldiers and the experiences really takes the audience through a journey. Depicting that no matter where in time, war has the same meaning, suffering and consequences.
Where Claire is facing her demons of war in the episode, we see Jamie grow into the role of a leader and as a greater warrior. He has a little row with Dougal over authority of the troops.
Surprisingly Dougal gave in to Jamie. They also catch a British wandering soldier who sneaks into their camp. He tries to kill Jamie and gets caught. Jamie however decides to spare his life but uses a little subterfuge to do it.
He grabs Claire and threatens to ravish her if the soldier doesn’t divulge where his fellow troops are hiding. He ultimately does, and Jamie and his men infiltrate the camp in the middle of the night and burn their wagon wheels.
The Red Coats won’t be carting their cannons anywhere anytime soon. We see what extents Jamie is ready to go to win the war. As at last they join the Bonnie Prince Charlie’s war encampment.
