E3 2016: Microsoft Announces Xbox Play Anywhere for Cross-Play on Xbox One and PC

This new feature lets you play your favorite game on so many platforms.

Microsoft has launched a new program this year. According to it once a user gets to purchase the title of Xbox Play Anywhere, he would be able to play all the games on Xbox One and on his PC too. Now users won’t have to buy different versions of various games but will be able to play them with a single ticket!

This announcement was made n E3 conference of Microsoft which was help today. It was announced by Rod Furgusson, who appeared on stage to reveal the release of Gears of War 4. He further elaborated that this game will be available on Xbox Play anywhere. This means that you can purchase it on PC or on Xbox but with this feature you will be able to play it anywhere you want. 

According to Furgusson, the progress of this program will be shared shortly. It will accompany multiplayer and co-op modes too. This service is currently related and focusing on the first party projects that are announced by Microsoft each year. However, the company is looking to expand the services of Xbox Play Anywhere for many other third party games as well. 

The games that will benefit from Xbox Play Anywhere include the following 

  • Gears of War 4
  • Halo Wars 2
  • ReCore
  • Forza Horizon 3
  • Scalebound
  • State of Decay 2
  • Sea of Thieves
  • We Happy Few
