Amber Heard has decided to withdraw request for spousal support as it is taking attention away from domestic abuse.
The latest news from the ongoing divorce proceeding between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard have taken a new turn. Up until now, we know that Amber Heard filed for divorce from the 52 years old star. She was disliked by all the members of the Depp family including his late mother. Some have even blamed her passing on Heard’s behavior.

Depp’s side claims that Heard treated him terribly and was very controlling. They claimed that Heard was now separating just to get money from the actor by blackmailing him. That was all before, the actress/model submitted evidence against her husband and got a restraining order against him. The evidence included her injured face and bruises that were examined by the police.
Johnny Depp’s family, friends and ex-wives came to his defense saying that he had never portrayed such behavior especially violent abuse that Heard was blaming him off. There were even rumors that Heard had faked injuries. Heard has however emphasized that Depp lost control while under influence of drugs and that is when he hit her. Depp has remained absent from the proceedings and is represented by Laura Wasser, according to VanityFair. Laura Wasser and team have emphasized that these are all ways of Heard to get more money.
Heard has finally taken a step to eradicate that belief. She has withdrawn her request for spousal support in favour of a permanent restraining order against Depp. The star has gone public with the statement that she asked for spousal support only because she thought it was a part of the divorce proceedings. She said that she is withdrawing the request because it is wavering the spotlight from the real issue of domestic violence.
She has also announced that she will be presenting two witnesses to testify about alleged domestic violence by Johnny Depp on Friday during a court hearing in Los Angeles. The actress’s long-time friend iO Tillett Wright and her neighbor Raquel Rose Pennington are willing to provide evidence on her behalf, according to DailyMail. This will cement the claims of domestic abuse in Heard’s favour and will help her get a permanent restraining order.

Heard recently reported that Depp had violated the order by sending people to their house. However, Depp’s party were there to collect personal items which they are allowed to do until the hearing on Friday. Depp is currently in his private island, resting it all out according to sources. He will not be appearing in court but believes in his legal team to do a good job. Heard has said that once she acquires the permanent restraining order, she will pursue spousal support again.
