Helen Mirren has confirmed that she will be joining the cast of the upcoming Fast and Furious 8.

Dame Helen Mirren can do anything. In her vast variety of roles, we know that she has done everything. The Red movies proved that she could play a hardcore, cold hearted assassin as well as play the role of Queen Elizabeth to perfection. When you are an actress of Mirren’s gravitas, it is rather your choice to pick the roles you want to do.

We don’t know if she wanted to do it or was she asked but Mirren confirmed to Elle magazine during an interview that she will be starring in the new Fast 8 movie. Scheduled to release next year, the movie is already flaunting a studded star cast and a great location in Cuba.

Mirren only confirmed that she will be starring in the movie but did not state the nature of her role. Fans are hoping dearly that she will play a villainous role in the movie although the options are limitless.

Charlize Theron and Scott Eastwood have already been confirmed as the new cast members for the movie. Theron has already been confirmed as the new villain so it would be interesting to see whether the movie will pair these two amazing actresses together or against each other.

We are yet to confirm whether Kurt Russell will be reprising his role in Fast 8 and Mirren might be the next office in charge with Eastwood playing the right hand man to Russell’s character under her command.

The original cast will be returning to film including Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Dwayne Johnson, Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris and Jason Statham. The film is being directed by F. Gary Gray and written by Chris Morgan.
