  • Disney and Lego are Teaming Up to Bring a New Frozen Bonanza

Disney and Lego will work together to bring the popular animated movie with a new story and the same great characters.

Frozen has no doubt been one of the most successful animated movies of all time. It raked in $1.2 billion globally, won two Academy Awards in 2014 (best animated feature and original song), sold 4.1 million soundtracks and is headed to Broadway in 2018. That still doesn’t seem to be enough for the fans or the studios. So they are going out on a limb here and bringing you something more. It is not just another movie, it is a Frozen bonanza.

Disney has announced an extension of the brand called Frozen Northern Lights, featuring books, animated shorts and a TV special. Andrew Sugerman, executive vice president of Disney Publishing Worldwide elaborated that Frozen Northern Lights is a brand-new original story and it’s going to feature all of the Frozen fan favourites.

The bonanza is set to start with the launch of a 224-page book, Journey to the Lights by Suzanne Francis on July 5. The book will be published by Random House. Following that, nine more books are planned through the end of 2017. The first book will feature our beloved original characters Anna, Elsa, Olaf, Kristoff and Sven and a new protagonist named Little Rock. In the book, the gang aims to restore the glimmer of the Northern Lights.

Following that this November will be the four new animated shorts Frozen Northern Lights from the Lego Group. The shorts will be aired on the Disney Channel. They will feature the film's original voices, including Kristen Bell(Anna), Idina Menzel (Elsa), Jonathan Groff(Kristoff) and Josh Gad (as the snowman Olaf). A TV special presenting the shorts will also air on the Disney Channel around Thanksgiving.
