Troubled South Korean smartphone maker Pantech has released its first smartphone in almost 2 years.
Ten years ago Pantech was making headlines wtih new smartphone releases. The company has not released a new smartphone in almost 2 years. The new Pantech phone is a budget smartphone named IM-100.

The name of the phone is a play on "I'm back." The number 100 is pronounced in Korean, sounding simiar to the English word "back."
The Pantech IM-100 is 7.8mm thin and weighs 130g. Features of the Android smartphone include 2GB RAM, Snapdragon 430 and 3,000mAh.

Samsung just turned away from budget phones because of the Chinese competition. Pantech will have to face with the IM-100 the competition from China. The company just needs to hope that South Koreans prefer to buy local. Do not expect to see the Pantech IM-100 outside of South Korea.
