The first official trailer for the movie Inferno based on Dan Brown’s bestselling novel of the same name left us wanting more. The trailer was brief and deliberate. Unlike the trailers of other movies, it gave away very little and aroused the audience curiosity tenfold. It also left them wanting more and that’s why Ron Howard and Sony have officially released a second, more elaborate trailer for the movie.

The second trailer features a running man, presumably the antagonist of the story Zobrist. He is cornered and jumps of a high building. Tom Hank’s Robert Langdon is approached for help. In a speeding train, he is told that the dying man had a package in his pocket. He asks what was in it and we never find out what it was. However, we see him holding a hologram tube which reveal the image of Boticelli’s La Mappa dell'Inferno which is depicting Dante’s Inferno as we are informed by Felicity Jones character in the trailer.
According to Langdon, Dante defined the modern concept of Hell seven hundred years ago. However, the circles in the painting that they are seeing have been rearranged. He then questions why Dante? He says why Dante’s map of Hell which leads to the conclusion that they must seek Dante’s Death Mask. Man on a mission, Langdon says that they have to get to Florence. He asks security to see the Dante’s mask. He is told that it was stolen. They see the footage of the robbery and find that Langdon himself took the mask.
He however does not remember taking it. He does not remember anything. He wants to know what he was involved with. His companion wants to know why someone was shooting at him to which he replies that everything is out of focus. He has visions with masked men and people dying. Another man (Irfan Khan) asks him about his vision. He tells him that people behind this will do anything to protect the truth. He has no idea what they are capable of. Just then Robert starts to make sense of the modifications in the painting.
He declares that Dante’s Inferno isn’t fiction but a prophecy, atleast the modified version. It is saying that someone created a plague. We then see Zobrist saying that our population is getting out of control and Inferno is the cure. The plague will wipe out half the world’s population unless stopped. We then see him figuring out clues through his paintings and visions that Langdon is famous for.
There are explosions, chases, gun shots and a worrying thought that is the plague exists, government will go to extreme lengths to get it. After another quick montage we get an ultimatum that if the plague is real then they only have 48 hours till an extinction level event. Langdon says that he will do everything he can to find it.
