Blake Lively and Director praised for what is being called a rip off of Jaws in the new release The Shallows.
According to the Hollywood rulebook, if there is one, somethings that are tough to do are, shooting in water, doing a movie alone and doing a movie with animals. On top of that you have to do your own stunts and also rock a bikini body. That is what Blake Lively is doing in the latest surviving movie The Shallows.

Hitting theaters this weekend, The Shallows is a story that revolves around Nancy. A med school dropout who is struggling with her mother’s recent death. She is shown to be in search of a beach which is off the main surfing term which allowed it to be dubbed as the “secret island”. This is the island where her equally athletic mother conceived her.
She finally finds the beach minus her companion and surfs alone in the shallow water. She is greeted by some locals. She remains alone on the island in hopes of catching some more waves but witnesses a shark attack that has come out in the shallow water.
She is attacked herself and swims out to a rock where she tends to her injured leg, shout for help, converse with an injured seagull and contemplate her strategy against the shark. She finally swims out to a buoy where she and the shark have a final showdown.
We don’t want to spoil all the fun for you. The movie comes from director Jaume Collet-Serra and script by Anthony Jaswinski, the film has been appreciated by some critics for its similarity with Jaws. While other critics have called the story blunt and at some points, downright too obvious.
The critics are split about the movie with some enjoying the thrill in the 87 minutes of the movie. While the other half bored with the plot and the whole action sequence. The movie’s success is now up to the audience to determine whether the movie makes the hit summer cut or not.
