Japan will be the first country to see autonomous driving for the public.
Nissan is going to launch its new vehicle Serena in Japan in the next month. Nissan announced that Serena which will be laced with ProPILOT technology, will be available for sale later in August this year. ProPILOT is the autonomous technology introduced by Nissan. It will offer convenience and peace of mind for drivers while driving on highway.

ProPILOT is the technology that is introduced by Nissan for single lane highway traffic. It will make use of the steering wheel, accelerator and brakes in order to put the car on auto pilot mode. The technology will provide the driver an experience of hassle free and easy driving.
The technology will make use of advanced image-processing technology to understand the traffic situations. This will allow the system of car to allow steering and accelerating according to the situation that is in front. The ProPILOT technology is really easy to use and extremely user-friendly.
This means that users won’t be stuck in the mechanics of using it. Its switch will be present on steering wheel which will allow the user to easily activate or deactivate it any time they want to. It will also include a personal display system for ProPILOT that will show the working mechanics and status of system when in use and when deactivated as well.
The acceleration, the brakes and steering wheel of the car will be controlled by a single camera system. His advanced camera will be an equipped with advanced image processing software. This camera will be able to recognize the three dimensional depth of all the vehicle in front and at the back. Along with that it will be able to take care of lane markers too.

The ProPILOT system will control the distance between vehicles and will control the travelling as well when activated. It will have the ability to drive the car between 30km/h to 100km/h as selected by driver.
