There have been reports according to which game players ought to be wary of false Pokemon Go applications which can ruin their smartphones.

It has been about ten days since Pokemon Go arrived on the scene with a bang. Not only game players but all sorts of services and businesses have been jumping on the platform for a little free publicity.

However, there is one downside to the whole shebang. This is that several harmful malware peddlars are trying to cash in on the game’s meteoric rise by tagging along in an illegal manner.

These fake viral agents have sneaked into the inner chambers of the game. As the staff at ESET have said, at least three fake Pokemon Go apps were found within the context of Google.

One of these was particularly tenacious. This was the Ultimate App which reportedly locks the screen of the devices after it is downloaded onto the smartphones.

Thus the user has to take out the battery or or use other means of unlocking his or her smartphone. Once the smartphone is unlocked and restarted, the app is finally removed from its core.

Yet this fake and troublesome app will still continue to lie low in the subtext and click on adverts for the sake of its nasty originators. It is malware with a malediction.

Lockscreen ability is the name of the game in this fake app. From here ransom messages are just  a stone’s throw away for this malware. The other two fake apps besides Ultimate are Guide & Cheats for Pokemon Go and Install Pokemongo.

These two apps are both nuisances that bombard the user with unnecessary and superfluous ads. These ads try to convince the user to buy goods and services at astronomical rates. They also invite the user to purchase such fraudulent services that will help unlock the smartphone screen.

However, this is not the first time in the history of smartphone games that such a thing has occurred. A backdoor tactic app for Pokemon Go was uncovered just seven days ago.

It seems that while the positive is taking place, the negative actively pursues it like a shadow that refuses to be separated from its more solid and real originator.

That is the nature of anything in this world. It casts a shadow. These fake apps are the shadows cast by Pokemon Go. There is thus a dark side to any brightly lit phenomenon.
