Here Is Our First Look At iPhone 7 EarPods

New images leaked on Weibo that are supposed to show the Apple Lightning EarPods.

With the iPhone 7 we will bid goodbye to the standard 3.5mm headphone jack as the new iPhone will not support it. Instead we will get lightning EarPods which has been confirmed by the new leaked images.

This puts the end to speculation which began in late June when the first images of these EarPods surfaced. If this turns out to be so Apple will be unable to ship the current EarPods.

The images, courtesy of 9to5Mac depict almost no change to the design other than the inclusion of the 8 pin Lightening port to make the EarPods compatible with the new iPhone.

The images could have been taken directly from Apple’s supply chain or could be 100% accurate representations of the new EarPods validating our claim of no change in design. The problem are though the design details. The manufacturing quality is nowhere near that of Apple. The Lightning plug is far bulkier than the current one on the USB cable. We doubt that these images are those of the official Apple iPhone 7 earbuds.

The new reversible connector will be compatible with all models of the new iPhone 7 and all future iOS devices making the lightening port responsible for all audio, data and power transference. The images seem pretty authentic.

The only slight abnormality seems to be the rather bulky Lightening connector but the added bulk could be a result of the DAC chip integrated within.

But as always we suggest waiting for Apple to make an official announcement but if you want to worry about something in the meantime worry about how you will charge and listen to music or talk on the phone at the same time.
