“We thought this was the hardest casting challenge of all time. They were the biggest boots to fill.” Director Chris Miller told audience about Ehrenreich as new Han Solo.
The 26-year-old actor himself made a special appearance alongside the panel to confirm his casting as Han Solo and talked about his role in the movie.
The role of Han Solo was played by Harrison Ford in the original trilogy and more than 3000 actors have been auditioned by the filmmakers including Miles Teller, Scott Eastwood and Dave Franco, younger brother of James Franco but they decided to go with “Blue Jasmine” actor.
The movie will pick up right where the Episode VIII left off.
“This movie is going to start right were the last one left off. It was a break from tradition.” Rian Johnson, the director of Star Wars: Episode VIII said.
Ehrenreich said, “I read the sides and I loved them. I auditioned for six months. The coolest part was I went on the Falcon for a chemistry test with Chewbacca. It was unbelievable. It was more exciting than nerve-racking.”
