The recent unearthing of early human remains in the form of fossils in China seems to contradict Africa as being the cradle of humanity. This hypothesis may be just that – a sort of wishful thinking on the part of paleontologists.
The history or rather prehistory of human evolution may need to be re-hauled after certain recent discoveries that contradict the age old claims laid down by paleontologists.
Human fossils found in China show us that human beings did not start their evolutionary journey from Africa. Instead Asia was the real cradle of humanity. This discovery is one that will break the mold after such a long time.
In fact, it is likely that humanity may have evolved at the same time in both Africa and Asia. This directly challenges the one-dimensional thought famous among the experts that Africa alone is the cradle of humanity.
Chinese researchers have unearthed three teeth samples that probably belonged to modern humans in a limestone cave in Bijie. This findings were published in Chinese journal Acta Anthropologica Sinica earlier this year.
The teeth date back to 112,000 years and 178,000 years in the past, according to Chinese People's Daily. This happens to be 75,000 years earlier than the so-called earliest humans settled in Africa. More work needs to be done on these teeth samples to determine their exact age and condition .
This happens to be the latest discovery made by the Chinese experts. Besides these three teeth samples, over 47 teeth fossils have also been found and labeled. They date back to 80,000 and 120,000 years in the past.
They probably belonged to a modern form of man that was extant way back than in Asia. Erstwhile theories had it that early humans appeared in Asia and Europe about 50,000 years ago. The current eye opener shows us that human beings were dwelling in China way before they developed in the African continent.
A Homo erectus skull was also unearthed a year ago in China. It goes back about 150,000 to 412,000 years in the past. Many human fossils have been exhumed from Chinese soil. Many of them date back to 100,000 years in the past.
The stone tools made by this Chinese form of primitive man were different from the implements and weapons used by the early Africans. Western scientists have a tendency to see Asian discoveries through the eyes of European and African findings.

Some further research in Asia will uncover new facts that will change this biased picture of how things were like way back in prehistoric times.
