Nissan Builds the First 48 kWh LEAF Prototype

The prototype of LEAF by Nissan gives an insight into the new cars of the future.

Nissan has come up with its first 48 kWh LEAF Prototype. This prototype is going to tell us exactly about the future of EV cars. Nissan’s Leaf has seen a great fan following due to its features. Now it’s time that the company starts working for the real car that will be launched in a few years.
The current model of car showcases 24kWh while this one has the ability of 48 kWh which is the double for this car. This prototype was completed successfully due to extra hard work implanted by the workers and engineers working at Nissan.

According to Nissan, the team worked on the project during the evenings and weekends. This is the reason that we are here to look at the future car so soon. This prototype has officially participated in many Eco series events.

This prototype indicates, Nissan’s commitment towards progress and bringing ease to the people while allowing intelligent mobility. The new 48 kWh LEAF Prototype has a battery size that is twice as compared to the current running model of LEAF.

It has increased the driving range of car by a big amount of 75 percent. The car is focused on zero emission and it is the same technology that is being used in it. along with that it was managed to be created by workers who worked volunteering which is the reason Nissan is showing a great deal of respect towards its team.

Dario Fernandez, Senior Engineer at NTCE-S, said: “It has been a great privilege to work on this project and to see our finished prototype race in the ECOseries. We all have a real passion for what we do and being able to work on prototype projects gives us the creative freedom to be as innovative and forward-thinking as we possibly can.

“Battery range improvement is important to the on-going adoption of electric vehicles, so this was a great opportunity to utilise our knowledge of zero-emissions technology to look at how battery range could potentially be extended in this particular application.”

Gareth Dunsmore, Director of Electric Vehicles at Nissan Europe, said: "As a pioneer of the electric vehicle market, Nissan has consistently innovated and advanced its technology to remain at the forefront of the zero emission sector. Whilst there are no plans to put this prototype into production, it serves as a useful exercise in thinking outside the box, something our engineers and designers do on a daily basis. The Nissan LEAF 48 kWh showcases the passion our employees have for their work.”Nissan was the first company to introduce 100 percent electric vehicle for the first time in the year 2010. After that many other companies jumped into the field. However Nissan is still going strong with its new projects.
