The new teaser trailer of the much awaited season 4 of Sherlock debuts at the Comic Con panel with stars hinting to some new characters.
It’s been almost two years. A long, long time since we saw our last glimpse of Sherlock in action. Although the special episode The Abominable Bride did bring relief to the diehard fans of the show, it was still a long wait for all of them. Especially considering where the show ended in the last season.

The production of the show did release a few tidbits about the show here and there and last week, we got our first glimpse of season 4 of Sherlock. We know that Toby Jones will be playing a new villain and John and Mary Watson will be having a baby.
However, nothing could be compared to a whole minute and a half teaser trailer for season 4 which was showcased for the fans at the 2016 Comic Con currently underway in San Diego. The cast of the show including Benedict Cumberbatch and Amanda Abbington, along with co-creator/executive producer/writer Mark Gatiss and Steven Moffat and producer Sue Vertue were all present for the Sherlock panel at Comic Con.
The teaser starts with static with James Moriarty appearing in intervals and his voice echoes as it did in the last episode of season 3 asking ‘Did you miss me?’ The screen then turns to Sherlock thinking something while a voice over by Benedict Cumberbatch as Sherlock is heard. According to Sherlock, something is coming.
Maybe it’s Moriarty, we see John’s silhouette in a hospital room, and maybe it’s not Moriarty he says. Something is coming, he repeats. We then see one of the panel members that Mycroft reports to as she says that they brought him back to deal with ‘this’. She asks him what he’s going to do. We see special ops team taking a building.
Sherlock then says fast and we see his face, whoever is coming, he says, whatever he’s lined out, Sherlock knows where it begins. John is sitting in the couch with a pen and asks Sherlock to enlighten him. We then see a woman with a veil with a gun in her hand. We get our first look at Toby Jones’s villain as he tells him through a car window that they are going to have ‘endless fun’. Sherlock disagrees that it is not going to be endless.
We got to admit that he looks pale, haggard and shaken. We see a helicopter flying before Molly Hooper starts to yell at him that it is not a game. We hear Jones’s villain’s maniacal laugh which we can admit is more horrific that Moriarty’s as Sherlock puts his hands over his mouth.
We hear a woman say that he said that he knew what this person was going to do next while the montage shows a car chase, Inspector Lestrade and Watson looking in agitated in a car and Sherlock shooting at someone following a car explosion. Mrs. Hudson tells Mycroft to get out of her house and calls him ‘reptile’.
Another montage follows with Mycroft speaking this time, ‘The roads we walk has demons beneath, yours have been waiting for a very long time. during that we see Watson looking on, Sherlock looking at something, someone with a torch approaching a door, a man’s back of the head walking towards another man, Mycroft in a meeting room, masked nurses coming in with IVs and Sherlock looking scared and shocked, trying to say something.
The teaser has surely made our wait much harder as there is nothing much given away yet so many hopes for the next season that the fans can barely hold their excitement.
