All 2017 Ford vehicles (cars, SUVs, light trucks, and electrified vehicles) will come with its SYNC 3 infotainment system that includes Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Ford is going all high tech in the coming year. The company has always focused on latest technology to aid better driving and to provide excellent handling for its customers. This is the reason that all the cars, light trucks and SUVs of the 2017 model will come with SYNCH 3, entertainment system and voice-activated communication system. These are pretty popular with smart phone integration.

The CarPlay offered will be excellent for iPhone users. It allows the iPhone users to get the best directions based on the traffic conditions. It makes the user able to communicate through his cell phone via the calling or messaging mode. Everything is being done through voice commands. The user will be able to listen to music and will be able to focus on the road ahead, using the Siri technology or a touch screen offered in car.
The other thing offered in the new Ford cars is Android Auto. This will enable the driver to use google voice search. Locate destination on google maps, have access to their emails and control the music through touch and steering control buttons. This will make them drive smoothly without losing their focus.
“We developed one platform – SYNC 3 – and have been able to quickly offer the technology across our lineup,” said Chuck Gray, Ford Global Director, Electrical and Electronic Systems Engineering. “Customers considering a new vehicle can now choose any 2017 model year Ford car, SUV, light truck, or electrified vehicle with SYNC 3 and be able to access their favorite apps.”
“SYNC 3 is already a major leap forward in terms of functionality, simplicity, and user experience – Ford’s promise that every new model now ships ‘Smartphone-ready’ is huge,” said Jeffrey Hannah, Director of North America for global automotive technology research firm SBD.
“Ford is not taking the traditional approach of introducing Apple CarPlay and Google Android Auto on a few piecemeal models or as an expensive option on luxury vehicles only. The guesswork for consumers is over – if you buy any 2017 Ford vehicle with SYNC 3, you drive off the lot with both of these innovative technologies ready to go.”
The Ford platform which is focused on SYNCH 3 technology means that updates will be offered automatically and the car functioning will need WIFI module from now on. The Ford vehicles that will have this technology as soon as possible will include Fusion, Mustang, Escape, and Explorer which are ready for the 2017 new installation phase. Along with that we will be able to get these functions in F-150, Focus, Edge and the latest 2017 Super Duty as well.
