Many Pokemon Go players are pretty angry over blunders by Niantic and some of them want refunds too.

Pokemon Go has been on the scene for a little while and already it is making waves. It is hugely popular and is raking in the revenue. Yet there are a few issues that have cropped up recently. Players have engaged in some vitriolic speech on Reddit against Niantic which is the developer of the game.

Niantic seems to have removed some very lovable features of the game which has earned it the wrath of the players. Also some players are irate over the developer’s crackdown on third party apps. A few of them even want refunds.

Niantic and Nintendo have sent cease and desist letters to the tracker sites. Here is a snapshot:

In the original game, a system termed “Nearby” revealed how near wild Pokemon were to the players. Were a Pokemon to have one or two footprints on its icon, it would be closer than one with three.

This feature allowed players to play the hotter/colder scenario in order to catch the critter or monster. This feature of Pokemon Go was the sort which bugged the hell out of the players right from the start. The reliability of this feature was just too low for it to catch on.

Seeing this situation, many others began developing Pokevision which is a Pokemon-finding application. This employed the same information which was fed into the computer.

Niantic is causing the wholesale whisking away of these features which is something that is rubbing many players the wrong way. The footprint system is being wiped off the face of the game’s platform.

Especially, the crackdown on third party apps has the players up in arms. Pokevision is in a state of repair right now. It is simply not doing its job. Nothing could be said with certainty regarding its return to a fully functional status.

Even Pokehound.com is currently unavailable. Legal action against all these apps is a question that hangs in the air. It could be a possibility or it could be just our wild and fertile imagination. The inside stuff remains inside.

However, the fact of the matter is that Reddit’s community has discovered that Niantic is employing technical measures to block these apps. This is simply unfair and the greatest injustice.

At present, players of this game have very few means of finding the Pokemon in the outer environment. This is a source of much consternation and chagrin for the eager beaver players.
