  • BMW i8 prototype has Been Spotted With some Sweet Upgrades

The prototype of BMW i8 spotted in Munich.

It was rumored from the past many months that an upgraded version of BMW i8 S is under consideration. Well now we can say with full conformation that a new BMW i8 prototype is on the go. We spotted this prototype on the roads of Munich and have bought the special spy shots just for your eyes.

It was rumored that this new upgraded version of BMW i8 will have an increased performance as compared to the latest model. The car which was spotted in Munich was sporting a few parts that spoke loudly of an increased performance. We are expecting some of these parts to go in the i8 Safety Car while the others to go in special road legal i8.

It is obvious from the spy shots that its chassis has been revised in order to improve the lap time and efficacy of this car. A rear window totally made of carbon fiber is surely here to increase sped and decrease the weight of car.

Air vets could be seen in the rear window too. Along with that we can spot a rear diffuser to provide additional downforce and a large front splitter for the same reason as well.

Other changes that can be seen in the car include the AP Racing breaks, 20 inches racing tires and a new Bilstein suspension to improve handling of car, according to BMWBlog.

The car will come with facility of inductive charging too. BMW is working with Qualcomm in order to provide the wireless charging mechanism for its lithium-ion batteries.

This will benefit other plug in and electric cars by BMW too. We will have to wait for the final results in order to see if this prototype will fully develop in a new model or will help the i8 Safety Car.
