Niantic is getting really chatty. A new Tweet finally explains why it got so hard to catch Pokemon.
The Pokemon Go App update 1.1.0 was released 5 days ago. It is a highly controversial update as Niantic removed the nearby feature. The update fixed a couple of bugs, but introduced something else. Trainers found that it got a lot harder to catch a Pokemon and the odds of escape and omits the XP bonus increased.
This caused an outcry of the Pokemon Go community, especially as at the same time Niantic blocked 3rd party Pokemon Go tracker such as Pokevision. Many believed Niantic changed the gameplay on purpose to make the game more difficult. Days after the release, Niantic said on Twitter that this is not the case.
"Trainers, a new bug affecting throw accuracy increases the odds of escape and omits the XP bonus. We are working on a fix, stay tuned...," said Niantic on the Pokemon Go Twitter account a couple hours ago. It is a bug and will be fixed in the upcoming 1.1.2 iOS update and 0.32.0 Android version. The new Pokemon Go app update could come as early as today.
