According to Tesla, the self-driving software in the Model X saved the life of a driver by taking him to the hospital.

A few weeks back an incident posed a lot of controversy on the auto-pilot mode introduced in Tesla cars. A middle aged man died when his car crashed while he was driving his car on auto pilot mode in Florida.

The investigations are being carried out now. Tesla however said that according to their own investigations the car pulled out of auto pilot mode before the car crashed.

Well now it looks like Tesla is looking towards different resources to make people believe that auto pilot mode offered by company is nothing but safe. Recently it was reported that a 37-year-old attorney, Joshua Naelly’s life was saved due to the auto-pilot feature of Tesla X that he was driving.

It was reported by KY3 that he was on his way to his daughter’s 4th birthday. He steered his Tesla X SUV in auto-pilot mode when he reached highway 68. The highway was jam packed with traffic and the auto-pilot mode which included automatic steering, acceleration and brakes did all the driving.

The auto-pilot mode is criticized all over the world due to its fatal accident which killed a man named Brown in Florida. Neally however says that he had trust in the system so he used it.

While he was going towards his destination he felt a stinging pain his abdomen. The pain went on to an unimaginable level and his car was steered towards a nearby hospital exit all on the auto-pilot mode.

Neally became unconscious upon reaching the hospital where it was diagnosed that he suffered from pulmonary embolism which can become fatal if not treated on the spot.

The auto pilot mode made it possible for him to reach the emergency while an ambulance would have taken more time. Neally says that he owes his life to the auto-pilot mode in his Tesla X.
