2017 Mini Countryman first spy shots are here.

The Mini Countryman was updated for the 2015 model. However the automaker is working on the next generation successor of the car which will be on roads pretty soon.

The development is undergoing these days in order to make the car look new and refined from every angle. Reports have suggested that the look of this new Mini is almost finalized and we will soon see a new and finalized prototype in the near future.

However today we are bringing you the 2017 Mini Countryman prototype that is being developed these days. The spy shots that MotorAuthority posted, show the mini to be heavily disguised from various sides. Nonetheless we were able to spot many new features in the car by taking a look at this prototype as well.

It looks from the spy shots that the designers of this car has gone with a more prominent and rugged look for this next generation Mini. Of course we couldn’t measure the exact dimensions but by the looks of it, this Mini definitely looks bigger than older models. This suggests that some much needed cabin space has been allotted to this new car.

We are expecting the same UKL platform that is being used in Convertible, Clubman and Mini Hardtop. This UKL platform is currently used in many other cars too. Recently it was used in BMW’s latest X1 model.

We are also expecting it be a front-wheel drive car. Along with that four-wheel drive might be present as an option too. We are looking for at least 228 horsepower for this model of 2017 Mini Countryman. It should feature a 1.5 liter inline 3-engine. It should also include a standard 6-speed transmission.

Customers will be delighted to find new safety features and other high-tech features which will make an appearance in this Mini too.
