Huffington Post founder announced a new company, leaving the news site.
An era ends. Arianna Huffington is stepping down from the Huffington Post Editor-in-Chief position to head a new company. Thrive Global has closed its series A funding round. The mission of Thrive Global is to change the way we work and live by ending the collective delusion that burnout is a necessary price for success. Huffington is a big proponent of getting enough sleep. I all in sync with her opinion on sleep.
She wrote down her thoughts on sleep in the book "Thrive and then The Sleep Revolution." Now she takes the next step making the book a company, trying to change the lives of workers.
“For far too long we have been operating under a collective delusion that burning out is the necessary price for achieving success. This couldn’t be less true. All the latest science is conclusive that, in fact, not only is there no trade-off between living a well-rounded life and high performance, but performance is actually improved when we prioritize our health and well-being. It’s time to move from knowing what to do to actually doing it,” says Arianna Huffington.
On Twitter, Huffington said farewell to the Huffington Post.
I thought HuffPost would be my last act. But I’ve decided to step down as HuffPost’s editor-in-chief to run my new venture, Thrive Global.— Arianna Huffington (@ariannahuff) August 11, 2016
