The fast growing startup event in Munich called Bits & Bretzels manages to score Sir Richard Branson.
Bits & Pretzels, the 3-day event for startups, investors and business incubators taking place from September 25 to 27 during Oktoberfest 2016 in Munich, German.
The rapidly growing startup event announced that Sir Richard Branson, British Entrepreneur and Virgin-Founder, will speak at the event to the German startup scene.
Branson will answer essential questions about how to build successful companies. He will be on stage on the second day of the event at the International Congress Center in Munich. Following his one-hour speech, a press conference is scheduled.
This Munich startup event started as a small breakfast meeting in 2014 and took over almost a complete tent at the Oktoberfest last year with 3,600 attendees. Two years later, the three young founders of Bits & Bretzels managed to score Sir Richard Branson for their speaker line-up. The organizers expect this year 5,000 attendees.
I have attended the Bits & Bretzels conference last year and it was great. It is a great organized event that embraces Bavaria and features stellar speakers. The 2016 Bits & Bretzels is going to be definitely bigger, not just because of Branson. Other confirmed speakers include Nathan Blecharczyk, co-founder of aribnb, Steve Hafner, co-founder of Kayak, Mitchell Baker, Executive Chairwoman of Mozilla Foundation, Riccardo Zacconi, Co-founder of King Digital Entertainment and Neil Patel, Co-Founder of Kissmetrics.
The absolute highlight is the networking at in an actual Okotberfest Wiesn tent. Don't forget to bring your Lederhosn or Dirndl.
About Sir Richard Branson
Sir Richard Branson is best known from founding the popular Virgin brand. In 1970, he started with a small mail-order record business (the brand name “Virgin” arose because back then Branson considered himself virgin in business) and gradually founded other companies in different industrial sectors. One of his most well-known companies within the group: Virgin Atlantic, founded in 1984, is now one of the largest airlines in the world. As of today, Virgin Group contains over 60 Virgin businesses worldwide with more than 70,000 employees in 35 countries, making it one of the biggest business conglomerates worldwide.
Besides his function as Founder of one of the biggest and most influential companies in the world, Sir Richard is always in search of the ultimate adrenaline kick as an extreme sportsman. Whether being the fastest to cross the Atlantic by ship or doing a round-the-world trip in a hot-air balloon, Branson always causes a sensation with his world record attempts. The billionaire lives on Necker Island, which is part of the British Virgin Islands. In 2017, the final of the Extreme Tech Challenge will take place there, which the winner of the Bits & Pretzels Startup-Pitch-Competition will also enter.
