She has celebrated her wedding anniversary recently and she has been tweaking fun at the Olympic moments just like every other talk show host. She had a lot of things to say about Michael Phelps’ game face meme and people were all laughing at that.
In a recent picture of Usain Bolt, the Jamaican sprinter, in which he is looking back at his competitors as he takes the front position generated a lot of memes from people.
Ellen also made some changes to the photo is which she is piggy back riding Usain in the picture. She captioned the picture that this was how she was going to be running errands from now on. She had edited the picture as a joke and Bolt himself enjoyed the humor as he retweeted it.
Many people however found the picture highly offensive and they criticized that Ellen was being racist for suggesting to ride a ‘black’ man. They demanded that she take the picture down and also posted hateful comments.
This caused Ellen to tweet out a statement in which she wrote that she was aware of the state of racism in the country and she was not, in any way, a racist.
I am highly aware of the racism that exists in our country. It is the furthest thing from who I am.— Ellen DeGeneres (@TheEllenShow) August 16, 2016
She emphasized that she was the furthest thing from a racist and in our years of watching her work and help people, we can all agree. Many people are also defending her and replying to all those hating her on the social media website.
