Rihanna is set to take over and start off this year’s MTV VMA’s with some of her best tracks.
Rihanna is not letting anything stop her from dominating this year’s MTV Music Video Awards. In addition to winning the biggest award of the night, the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award, she also announced that she would be kicking off the night’s festivities by being the first to perform.

In a post on Instagram featuring a Canvas Spot created by Swedish visual artist Panda Gunda, she wrote "Kickin Awf the @MTV #VMAs this Sunday at 9PM ET/PT!,” she added "Thank you for creating this -- in honor of the #VMAs2016 era @pandagunda! #RiRiVanguard.
Panda Gunda is also the visual artist who has also helmed the VMA promos.
The show’s executive producer Jesse Ignjatovic told the details of her performance that she will be performing a medley of her greatest hits throughout her career. He claimed that it would be one of those holy crap VMA moments. He said that she was bringing her all to the performance. We believe it.
Rihanna is going to be winning the biggest award of the night, she is also nominated for best female video for "Work" featuring Drake; best male video as a featured act on Calvin Harris' "This Is What You Came For"; and twice in best collaboration for the aforementioned duets, according to Billboard.
The show looks to be a star studded event with the line-up of performances that has been announced including Britney Spears, Future, Ariana Grande with Nicki Minaj, Nick Jonas with Ty Dolla $ign and the Chainsmokers with Halsey.
The show will be broadcasted on MTV on Sunday, Aug. 29 at 9/8c. We cannot wait for Rihanna’s performance. In preparation, we could check out some of her best tracks that has made her one of the most iconic music stars throughout the world.
