Audi is all set to try a new kind of virtual dashboard for A8.
Audi is trying the latest technology in order to make room for the newest Next Generation dashboards in its upcoming models. They are working on the evolution of cockpit technology which will give drivers an extra comfort on driving the car to destination.

This new dash concept was first shared with the concept of Audi Q6 e-Tron Quattro concept car. This technology involves the installation of virtual dashboards. These will include three displays that will handle all the controls of the car along with information processing.
One screen will be positioned in the direct vision of drier in order to make the access easier for him. It will be a thin OLED most probably 14.1 inches in size. It will offer HD 2240 x 720 pixel resolution.
The OLED will be slightly curved so that the glare is minimized for the driver. It will be controlled through the steering wheel of car as well. It will showcase features such as seed, battery, electric range, remaining range and charge status of battery too.
The virtual dashboard will accompany two more screens as well. The two screens will be placed in the canter dashboard. The upper out of these will showcase infotainment content.
It will also display navigation, and media content that can be played in car. The third screen below the second one will be used to text input and to operate the aircon as well.
All the screens will use haptic feedback. Along with that users will feel a vibration and noise while operating the screens. This will let them know if they correct function is pressed or not.
The split screen philosophy like that is in order to increase the efficiency while driving and providing the ease to drivers as well. We might see this concept in 2017 Audi A8.
