Sony focuses on 4K and HDR with the Sony PlayStation 4 Pro. The PlayStation Neo is PlayStation 4 Pro. Sony has developed the PS4 Pro to leverage 4K TVs, supporting 4K and HDR.

The GPU performance has been increased an the clock rate of the PS4 CPU has been increased. The PlayStation 4 Pro comes with a 1TB hard-drive.
The gaming footage shown is impressive. Sony says that the game resources are the same, but the PS4 Pro renders them in higher resolution and better colors.
Besides the 4K resolution, HDR is a big deal. HDR makes game sceneries more photo realistic.
The Sony PS4 Pro is possibly now the best reason to get a new 4K TV. The PS4 Pro is also increases the image quality on standard HD TVs.
Sony makes a point that there is no segmentation. All game discs work on both the PS4 and PS4 Pro. The PS4 Pro just provides a better experience.
The move to adopt 4K this year has called Microsoft off guard. The Xbox Scorpio is coming a year later. Sony does a lot right these days.
PlayStation 4 Pro supports 4K streaming. A new Netflix app for PS4 Pro will be launched with 600 hours in 4K and HDR. Youtube will also support the PS4 Pro with an app.
Sony will upgrade all PS4 consoles to HDR support with a firmware update next week. So HDR is not just limited to the PS4 Pro.
The Sony PS4 Pro will sell for $399 on November 10.
Coming off the Apple keynote, the Sony event is a big bore. They clearly need to improve there events. It's way to slow paced. It also does not make sense to show a lot of game content as the stream is not in 4K. Its actually grainy at times because of bandwidth and load. This is ok for unveiling new video games, but not for a new console hardware.
