The Jet Black iPhone 7 Plus is Sold Out and Is Delayed Until November

The Jet Black and Black iPhone 7 Plus are sold out until October.

Apple just opened the pre-order for the new iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus online at about 12:10am PDT. The launch of the pre-order was late. Within minutes the black variants of the iPhone 7 Plus have sold out. The shipping time on the Jet Black iPhone 7 Plus 128GB and 256GB is 4 to 6 weeks, putting delivery into October.

Update: While I was writing this report, the Jet Black iPhone 7 Plus shipment date moved to November. The iPhone 7 Pre-order is just going on since 20 minutes. The Black iPhone 7 Plus is still at 2 to 3 weeks.

The Black iPhone 7 Plus situation is a bit better, but are also delayed 2 to 3 weeks. Silver, Gold and Rose Gold iPhone 7 Plus are still shipping on September 16.

I have pre-ordered a black iPhone 7 Plus 32GB as soon as the web store was online and I have a delivery delay of 10 days. Expected delivery is on September 26. At least I don't have to wait until October.

As predicted, the new black colors are the most appealing for the iPhone 7. The iPhone 7 Plus is more attractive not just because of the bigger screen, but because of the dual lens camera. The black versions of the iPhone 7 are starting to get delayed with some models showing delivery in 2 to 3 weeks.

The iPhone 7 is the first iPhone that starts with 32GB and has now 3.5mm headphone jack. Feature highlights include A10 Fusion CPU, improved 12MP camera, dual lens camera in iPhone 7 Plus, 7MP FaceTime camera, new touch force touch home button, LTE Advanced with up to 450Mbps, water resistant, stereo speakers and iOS 10. The design is in line with the iPhone 6S, but has been improved. Especially in the Jet Black and Black color option, the iPhone 7 looks like made out of one piece.

Apple might have again some iPhone 7 units in Apple Stores on September 16. There will not be many. The demand for the new iPhone 7 is clearly high.
