Land Rover is creating milestones in the latest vehicle technology. All-New Land Rover Discovery comes with world's first intelligent seat fold technology. New Discovery world premiere is on 28 September, 2016 ahead of Paris Motor Show.
Recently an extreme testing was made that showed the right kind of testing that Land Rover is capable off. This extreme testing was made with none other than British adventurer Bear Grylls. He tested the Land Rover’s first ever seat folding technology.

The Intelligent Seat Folding allows the user and owner of car to rearrange the seats of car from outside of the vehicles. It allows the user to configure the car’s seats according to their own demands.
Thus providing them with hustle free routine of arranging seats while going on a trip. This feature can be used in the seven seater SUV by Land Rover. The testing was done by Grylls while in air moving with the speed of 125mph. he arranged the seats on his smart phone while being stranded in the air.
Later on he was seen coming on the ground with the help of parachute. He and his other skydiving companions then were shown seated in the rearranged seats for the skydivers in the SUV and were seen driving away in it.
"Land Rover is proving why the New Discovery is the ultimate family SUV. The fact that they have created this world-first Intelligent Seat Fold technology is impressive in itself and for the remote function to work while we are freefalling from a plane is pretty cool! I’m not sure many people will be using it in such a manner but the technology to operate the car remotely in this way will undoubtedly be a real winner for busy families who want to be prepared," said Bear Grylls, world-renowned British adventurer.
The new Discovery will be world premiered on September 28th. While this advertisement and testing by the company showed us the kind of configuration we can expect from this SUV.
The basic functions and world-first Intelligent Seat Fold technology can be handled from anywhere through a smart phone of user. It takes as little as 14 seconds for the seats to reconfigure in to a new position.
This handling will be possible with the help of InControl Remote app that can be downloaded on iOS or Android as per the choice of user. The folded seats make an excellent space for luggage that can be achieved while reaching beforehand towards the car.
"This unique feature sets the New Discovery apart from any other vehicle. The fact that owners can change the seating while doing things like queuing with their shopping is a true milestone in convenience delivered through technological innovation," said Alex Heslop, Land Rover’s Chief Engineer for Discovery.
