These are the beginning of the audio revolution Apple is going to bring to the tech world. Powered by the W1 chip, the company is supremely proud of these AirPods can connect to any Apple device such as an iPhone, iPad, Mac or Apple Watch with zero user interface.
This leads us to the conclusion that the AirPods might be using an intelligent chip to create all of this magic but are probably using Bluetooth to form a connection in the first place.
The fact they they are using Bluetooth to form a connection means that these AirPods might be compatible with Android devices too but you will have to pair them up with your Android device using the pair button on the AirPods case and the Bluetooth setting provided.
Its good news that AirPods will be compatible with other devices other than Apple devices but a few of the defining features of these AirPods will be missing. Like the fact that the extended battery time won’t be available because the W1 chip will not be working.
Therefore these AirPods are best suited to work with Apple devices as they will offer better sound quality when working with the before mentioned devices.
