Amazon has sold out of the new slimmer PS4, but you can find it in stores today.
Sony announced two new consoles last week. The new PS4 Slim with a new design and 30% smaller is available starting today, September 15. The new PS4 sells for $299.99 like the original PS4. The first bundle is with Uncharted 4 and a PS4 500GB console.
On Amazon, the PS4 Slim is not in stock. It will be back in stock on September 22. GameStop has online stock of the PS4 Slim and has it available in their stores. GameStop offers an exclusive Sony PS4 Slim 1TB bundle with Final Fantasy XV for $449.99.
The new Sony PS4 Slim is not adding any new functionality. It's just smaller and features a different design. Sony made the HDR functionality available in the just released PS4 firmware 4.00 for all PS4 consoles.
The Sony PS4 Pro, scheduled for a November 10 release, has new features. It supports 4K resolution in games with higher performance CPU and GPU. The $399.99 Sony PS4 Pro is available for pre-order now.
You can also find the new Sony PS4 Slim on Target, Walmart and basically all major stores. Should you buy one now? Not if you want to save money. The new Sony PS4 Slim will be featured in Black Friday 2016 ads with additional freebies and lower price. The battle between Microsoft and Sony will be fierce this Holiday shopping season.
The demand for the Sony PS4 Slim is not that high. On Amazon the new console only ranks 36th in the video game bestsellers. The Sony PS4 Pro is in the top 10.
