Nintendo is most likely going to reveal its next console, the Nintendo NX, on October 21, 2016. It is likely that they will use an online pre-recorded broadcast, per Squish Turtle. The date is most likely for a few reasons, the main being that it will be exactly five years to the day that Nintendo Direct first came online all the way back in 2011.
Don't Miss: MWC 2017 Highlights
Since the format was generally a success with fans, and has been used to announce quite a few turns in the business, including big titles and cool indie titles. The date is also successful for Nintendo, they tend to do their biggest announcements near the end of October - just in time for the holiday season pre-order, though the console likely won't be available until after.
Details for the NX have been kept extremely quiet. Nintendo hasn't really revealed too much, though some of the companies they work with have let things slip. For the most part, they are just saying that it will be completely different from anything else they've revealed. The fact that it is a handheld console with a TV connection has been widely reported as a truth, though that is still a rumor.
