  • Google’s Self-Driving Cars are More Experienced than any Human Driver on the Face of Earth!

The Odometer of Google’s Self-Driving Program has reached 2 million miles.

The self-driving cars introduced by Google are running all over the world on trails these days. The company is gathering as much information as they can in order to make the self-driving experience safest for the people.

The self-driving cars of Google are being operated on trial of course, in four major cities of U.S these days. Many other big names are also working ahead to make the self-driving cars commercial.

According to Dmitri Dolgov, who is the head of Google’s self-driving program, this was a fictional idea in year 2009.

“In 2009 we were just this crazy research project working on a science fiction idea,” Dmitri Dolgov told Fortune. “And look at where we are today. ”

The researchers started working on self-driving cars project and here they are actually doing the trails of these cars in major cities of US.

The self-driving cars have logged up to 2 million autonomous miles up till now which is a big number. The data was collected by making the cars drive autonomously 90% of the time on public roads.

The roads included highways, city streets and the famous roads of the selected cities. These cars have now an equivalent of 300 years of human driving experience. This number is just astonishing.

As this means that these self-driving cars can totally overtake human driving in a few years to come. Thus people will feel more at ease while going from one place to the other.

The self-driving program is using Lexus RX450h SUVs which are modified for the special program. These are laced with sensors and cameras so the car is directed in the right way in right time.

For the trails, each car is accompanied with a monitor who sits in the driving seat and monitors the motion of car without taking control of it.

Tesla, Uber, General Motors and Toyota are also working on their own self-driving cars technology these days.
