Don't Miss: Hottest CES 2017 Announcements
The new flagship by Samsung is anticipated to have huge hardware changes never seen before in its predecessors. Firstly it is rumored that the current button in its clickable form will be no longer present. Instead the replacement might be somewhat similar to Apple’s non moving part in iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 plus.
Another prospect includes no physical Home button to be included at all. There would be an on screen version which consequently suggests the finger print scanner will not be functional with the Home Screen. According to a Korean report the elimination of the Home button may be an indication that Samsung might be planning the front of Galaxy S8 to be all screen.
However it is very vague as to how this conclusion was reached. Now if the Home button is to be replaced or another solution is chosen this would lead to a smaller bottom bezel. However there is a long way to go to reach an all screen front In addition, Samsung has also decided to include a dual rear camera arrangement in the S8.
This does not come as a surprise considering the fact that many of the major rival’s of Samsung including Apple are in this competition already. However what remains unclear is whether Samsung will opt for all-in-one dual camera which has two lenses and a module or it will go for a separated dual camera which has two separate modules.
It is also said that one of the rear sensors will be having a resolution of 16 MP resolutions and on the other hand the other will have an 8 MP unit. Samsung Galaxy 8 will be powered be the company’s own chip Exynos 8895 and also with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 830. Both will be used in a 50/50 split. It was previously rumored that the SD830 will be produced by Samsung’s fab and this remains so.
As far as the release date for S8 is concerned it is reported that it will hit the market as per the company’s normal schedule. It will be announced in March and will be very much available in March. The schedule might be pushed forward considering the recent events regarding the Galaxy Note 7 but that is highly unlikely.
