As has been expected for a few weeks now, Microsoft will have a major press conference and reveal on October 26, 2016. The details about just what is to be expected at the event are quite vague, but they are starting to creep out just a little bit. According to some sources, the announcements will be (or won't be, in some cases) as follows:
Windows Surface Announcements
Don't Miss: MWC 2017 Highlights
There will be no announcements about a Surface Pro 5 or a Surface Book 2. The hope is that a new tablet will come around Spring 2017, but that is all guesswork. Either way, we won't get any details about them.
There also won't be a Surface phone. According to rumors, Microsoft might not even be in the market to create a Surface phone.
There may be an announcement about some new Surface hardware, including peripherals and, just maybe, the rumored Surface All-in-One.
Microsoft Band 3
A Microsoft Band 3 announcement probably won't ever come. It looks like Microsoft has all but killed the project.
What Else to Expect
As it is a Windows event, so everything will probably revolve around the Windows 10 story and where to take it. While the Surface is one of its best products, they do have some other things to focus on at the event. You will probably see some information about new Windows 10 devices from PC makers and shakers, information on the Xbox One, and HoloLens. Of course, there will also be information on the next Windows 10 update.
Thankfully, it will be livestreamed for everyone to see. Until then, we will keep you abreast of all the newest rumors and speculation up to the event.
