V8.0 software will now make the doors open and close faster than before.

Tesla has made significant changes in the autopilot software of its vehicles. The update has made the autopilot mode much better than ever and it has brought some significant changes in other functions of cars as well.

The improvements in the auto-pilot system include better radar sensors coverage which will result in improved identification of obstacles and enhanced steering too.

Along with these, this update has given a cool new feature to the Tesla Model X which was actually unveiled by an enthusiastic owner of the car.

Bjorn Nyland who is an owner of Tesla Model X shared a video as an evidence to showcase the fact that the recent upgrade has improved the speed of opening and closing of Falcon Wing doors of car too.

He compared the opening and closing time of both software versions v7.1 and v8.0. It was discovered by him that the new update made the doors open 1.5 seconds faster as compared to previous one.

He posted this video on Electrek where one can clearly see the doors closing and opening in both software versions. It was also found that closing speed of doors has increased by 2.2 seconds as well.

This looks like a small improvement, but this kind of improvement can be a big deal for the Model X owners. Tesla has earlier sued the Swiss suppliers of these Falcon doors earlier.

The law suit was filed due to the fact that these doors tend to overheat and get sagged while they were opened or closed. The case is now settled though and it looks like the update of software has made a great change as well.
