The Sony PlayStation VR Launch bundle is sold out online after the first 24 hours of launch. Only Sam's Club has the PSVR Launch Bundle in stock online. No other online retailer has stock. The PSVR Core is still available.

The Sony PlayStation VR launched at midnight Eastern Time on Thursday. Both the PSVR Core and the PSVR Launch Bundle have been in stock at major retailers including Amazon, Best Buy and GameStop for the first 12 hours.

Now, 24 hours after the launch, the Sony PlayStation VR launch bundle is sold out online. The only online store left that has the Sony PlayStation VR Launch Bundle in stock is Sam's Club. The membership warehouse sells the PSVR launch bundle for $499.

To be able to buy the Sony PSVR Launch bundle at Sam's Club, you need to be member. Sam's Club Memberships are on sale right now starting as low as $25. The recommendable Sam's Club Plus card is selling for almost 60% off for new members, bringing the price down to $45.

The Sam's Club Plus membership gives you early shopping hours and cash rewards, ideal for Black Friday.

GameStop, Amazon and Best Buy have only the $399.99 PSVR Core in stock. You need to get the PlayStation Camera and the Motion Controllers extra if you do not own them yet. The accessories are necessary to make the PSVR work.

Walmart for some reason has no stock of the Sony PlayStation VR in the online store. The Sony PSVR is sold out at the ToysRUs online store. The toy retailer had stock in the early hours of today.

We do not know how many PlayStation VR units Sony has sold through in the first 24 hours. There is significant hype around the launch and the PlayStation VR Launch Bundle is the best seller in the video game category on Amazon.com. The PSVR Core ranks fourth. That means that most PS4 owners do not own the PlayStation Camera and the Motion controllers. They need to get them now as part of the PSVR Launch bundle as the Sony VR headset does not work without these accessories.

SuperData Research predicts that Sony will sell 2.6 million Sony PlayStation VR units by the end of the year. This number would make Sony the market leader in home virtual reality.

The Sony PlayStation VR is sold as core package and launch bundle. The $399.99 PS VR core package is for PS4 owners that already have the PlayStation Camera and two PlayStation Move motion controllers. The $499.99 PS VR launch bundle is including these accessories necessary to use the PlayStation VR.

The first generation Sony PlayStation VR CUH-ZVR1 renders images on a 5.7-inch OLED panel with a resolution of 1,920x1,080px. For each eye a resolution of 960x1,080px is available. The supported refresh rate is 120Hz and the Field of View (FOV) is about 100 degrees. The 610g weighing PS VR has a six-axis motion sensing system (three-axis gyroscope, three-axis accelerometer) built-in.

The PlayStation VR Core package is packed with a VR headset, Processor unit, VR headset connection cable, HDMI cable, USB cable, Stereo headphones (with a complete set of earpiece), AC power cord and AC adaptor.

The Sony PlayStation VR release comes with a number of PlayStation VR launch games, including Drive Club VR and Batman Arkham VR.
