  • Audi’s First Ever Full Electric Vehicle Will be Called E-Tron

We might see the release of E-Tron by the end of 2020

Audi has finally revealed the name of its all electric terrain vehicles line. The SUV that will be fully electric will be called E-Tron. The line will also cater hatchback and saloon cars as well in the same module.

The name Audi E-Tron was confirmed by Rupert Stadler who is Audi Boss and also announced that it will be the first fully dedicated series of the electric production cars by company.

According to AutoCar, Stadler said, “It is comparable to the first Audi quattro, which was known simply as the quattro. In the long term the name e-tron will stand for a pure electric driveline structure.”

The best thing about this name is that it will simply be called E-Tron. There will be no digits or alphabets attached to the name like that of other models of Audi. So you won’t have any problem in remembering it.

The E-Tron Quattro concept was shown at the 2015 Frankfurt motor show. This new SUV which will be an EV in nature will be the part of E-Tron line among three pure electric vehicle models. The company is planning to introduce all three of these EVs by the end of 2020. The other two will include a hatchback and a large saloon.

According to Stadler having the name E-Tron is just like that of Audi Quattro that was simply known by the name Quattro. It also didn’t have any kind of symbol or any digit attached to it for its models. Thus the E-Tron name will follow this kind of legacy too. He also stated that E-Tron will stand for the pure electronic driveline structure which all these models will follow.

He also confirmed that E-Tron will appear with Audi’s more traditional models as well. According to him Audi will introduce vehicles such as A6 E-Tron, A8 E-Tron, and more like these.

There are also news that Audi is currently working on an electric saloon that will actually challenge Tesla Model S.
