Don't Miss: Today's Best Deals on Amazon.com
Today is, according to a retail source of I4U News, the big day NES is back in stock. The NES is in stock at Best Buy stores for Black Friday.
NES Classic on Black Friday
As reported, Best Buy stores are stocking NES Classic in stores for the Best Buy Black Friday event starting at 5pm tonight. The source said that there will be quite a few consoles and that inventory will be spread out. The NES Classic was last on sale online on Tuesday at the Walmart online shop.
Please email us if you have spotted the NES at a Best Buy store last night.
The $59.99 Nintendo NES Classic Edition console launched on November 11 in stores and online. The supply was extremely constraint in stores and especially online. Right now all stores are sold out of the retro 80s TV gaming console. Even NES accessories are hard to come by.
Resellers offer the NES on the Amazon marketplace are $250 and up.
Hatchimals on Black Friday
Hatchimals have sold online as recently as today. ToysRUs sold Hatchimals at $10 above list price this morning, shortly before 8. The inventory held over an hour. We did not see such long availability since the hype started end of October. The high price of $69.99 seems to dampen demand, which is weird as reseller want over $200 for a Hatchimals. Another explanation is that ToySRUs had a huge lot of Hatchimals available to sell.
Update: According to information of a Walmart shopper in Hawaii, Walmart has handed out wristbands for Hatchimals. The particular store had 20 Hatchimals in stock for Black Friday.
Walmart sold Draggle Hatchimals at 1pm ET online. The offer only lasted a minute as usual. If you head to a Walmart tonight, we'd love to hear your report on the Hatchimals Stock situation. Email us.
Hatchimals will be in stores today at several retailers to make the Black Friday events in store more exciting. Walmart is the only retailer advertising a Hatchimals Black Friday deal, but we found out in our discussions with retail employees that Kohl's and Sears will have Hatchimals today in stores. Sears is a new name on the list of retailers carrying Hatchimals. Apparently the store had them since a while.
We can't confirm that all stores will have them. What we learned is that the number of Hatchimals will be very limited.
Update: We just got a tip from an annonymous tip from an unloader at a Walmart Distribution center in Ohio. The Hatchimals in stock at Walmart stores are likely less than a handful for each store. This could get nasty. Refrain from fighting over the eggs. Walmart has had bad experiences with Black Friday's go very wrong. Why Walmart risked to put Hatchimals in their Black Friday 2016 Ad is stunning.
There is a big chance that Hatchimals will be on store shelves today at other retailer as well that are known to carry Hatchimals.
Hatchimals - What are they?
Hatchimals are magical creatures that live inside of eggs. Each egg contains one of two interactive Hatchimals. Kids need to care for the toy while it is still inside the egg and its eyes will light up as it makes cute sounds, telling you how it’s feeling.
Once your children have played with it enough, you’ll see rainbow eyes. That means its time to hatch. Hatchimals can’t hatch on their own. Kid's touch encourages them to peck their way out of the egg.
Now you get to raise your furry Hatchimal through 3 stages, from baby to toddler, to kid. Your Hatchimal sings “Hatchy Birthday” each time it enters a new stage. Teach yours to walk, dance, play games and more.
It will even repeat what you say in its own voice. Hatchimals run on two AA LR6 batteries that are included. The video below released by Spin Master explains in the detail how Hatchimals work and how to play with them.
Spin Master has underestimated the demand for Hatchimals in the United States. The clever designed Hatchimals push all the right buttons to become a viral hot Holiday toy. The company has warned consumers that the supply of Hatchimals is extremely constraint and the situation will not ease until early 2017. Many kids have to be prepared to not get a Hatchimals this year. Read our Hatchimals Buyer's Guide to help you get a Hatchimals in time for Christmas.
It is understandable that retailers want a piece of the pie that scalpers are getting for the hottest Holiday toy of 2016. $89.99 is pushing it for this toy, that is not without criticism.
While ToysRUs and Jet.com increase their margin offering Hatchimals online above the MSRP, Walmart will sell Hatchimals on Black Friday for $48.88. Find all stores offering Hatchimals in our Hatchimals shopping guide.
Nintendo NES Classic - What is it?
The NES Classic Edition comes only with a single wired controller. There are 3rd party controllers and accessories that make the NES more fun to use. Gamers can get additional controllers and even wireless controllers.
Nintendo knows it messed up, underestimating the demand for the NES Classic Edition. Nintendo has issued a statement on Twitter on November 11 acknowledging the shortage of the NES Classic Edition. "The Nintendo Entertainment System: NES Classic Edition system is a hot item, and we are working hard to keep up with consumer demand. There will be a steady flow of additional systems through the holiday shopping season and into the new year. Please contact your local retailers to check availability."
The palm-sized NES console, retailing for $59.99 list price, features the classic Nintendo NES controller many geeks have grown up with. The retro console comes pre-installed with 30 classic NES games including Super Mario Bros., Pac-Man, Metroid, Donkey Kong, The Legend of Zelda and Kirby's Adventures. The NES Classic Edition system is a miniaturized version of the groundbreaking NES, originally released in 1985.
