The autonomous project between the two will offer ride sharing too.

Google’s Waymo automobile technology is all set to produce some up-scale technology advancement. We had given you the news earlier that Google is working on its autonomous car technology.

Now we are bringing you the news from Bloomberg that Google has decided to work along Fiat Chrysler in order to bring about an autonomous ride-sharing program. The company would use Fiat Chrysler automobiles in order to implement the autonomous system.

Along with that the self-driving system by Google’s Waymo will be introduced in these customized Fiat Chrysler automobiles. One of the models that will be considered for the self-driving trail include Fiat Chrysler minivan prototype. The other major component is that it will start a ride sharing feature in these cars too.

The ride-sharing facility by Fiat Chrysler and Google will be competing with Uber and Lyftt which is pretty famous in San Francisco Bay. It is being said that the system will be developed and properly launched by next year for public trail. Uber being the most famous ride-sharing and cabbing service is also working on its autonomous ride sharing program.

It had launched its self-driving test in Pittsburgh this year where engineers sat behind the wheel of car, monitoring all its activity. Uber is now hoping to launch test drives in California but hasn’t received the permission to do so by State, as California’s state law require special permission in order to carry out self-driving testing.

Tesla, General Motors and Ford have been successful in receiving the permission which is the reason that we think that Uber will have to wait a little for this process.

Fiat Chrysler and Google have said that they will be building 100 autonomous driving prototypes but a ride sharing service will surely require more number of vehicles. The number might be increased in future too.
