Availability in America is set for May 1st with Asia Pacific and Japan getting the systems on May 5th. Dell says that a redesigned 17-inch Vostro 1710 will be available in mid-May. All of the new systems will share a slot load optical drive that is thinner and lighter than before.
The notebooks will also be available with no trial ware and 10GB of free Dell DataSafe Online Backup. Both the 1310 and 1510 also feature finger print readers. "Listening to customers and acting quickly on their feedback to improve our products and services sets Dell apart," said Frank Muehleman, vice president and general manager, Dell Small and Medium Business. "For example, customers told us in a recent global laptop study that data protection and pre-installed security software are, by far, the most important security features."
