The latest video game sales data for the month of May are tremendous. Somehow consumers managed to get their hands on 721,000 Wii consoles - I wonder where they found these.
Microsoft can celebrate again as they overtook the Sony PS3 again in March. In February Sony outsold the Xbox 360 with the PS3. Microsoft was saying back then that supply issues damped the Xbox 360 sales. In March supply was stable again.
The sales numbers of the Xbox 360 and the Sony PS3 are not far apart with 262,000 Xbox 360 consoles and 257,000 PS3 consoles sold.
Because of the significant Xbox 360 price-drop in Europe, Microsoft managed to double Xbox 360 sales there.
Sony bets on Gran Turismo 5 Prologue racing game and Konami's Metal Gear Solid 4 to drive Sony PS3 sales in the coming month.
