Asus has officially revealed this week the final specifications of the Asus Eee PC 900. What was missing was the final shipping date and price for the United States.

According to NotebookReview the Asus Eee PC 900 sells for $549 and starts shipping on May 12th.
The price is the same for the Linux (20GB flash) and the Windows XP version (12GB flash).

An Asus Eee PC 8G sells right now for $499.99. So the price of $549 is quite good, when comparing it to what you get over the 8G. It also means Asus can discontinue the Eee PC 8G right now as nobody will buy it anymore.
