GTA IV is expected to sell a whopping 6 million copies in its first week of release, besting the previous record first week sales of Halo 3. BBC News reports that Eurogamer gave the game a 10 out of 10 rating and the New York Times said the game delivers “new level of depth for an interactive entertainment experience".
With the massive sales the game expects to generate, ratings boards in the UK and the U.S. are warning parents to heed the rating the game was given. Both countries have rated the game for over 17.
Reports say that most reviewers didn’t get early release copies of the game, but had to go to Rockstar offices to play or visit booked hotel rooms to check out the game.
